Capable of handling large payloads and assisting with docking the Space Shuttle, the SSRMS is crucial to the continued assembly of the International Space Station. The folded up arm sits on a u-shaped space lab pallet inside the bay. Another part of the payload, not seen, is the Multi-Purpose Logistics Module Raffaello, which carries six system racks and two storage racks for the U.S. Lab. Launch of mission STS-100 is scheduled for April 19 at 2:41 p.m. EDT
